LiftPac® Flexible Non-Hazardous Waste Packaging / FIBCs

Flexible Non-Hazardous Waste Packaging / FIBCs

The LiftPac® is a certified IP-1 flexible package for all forms of materials such as soils, gravel, demolition debris, metal, and single solid items such as metal containers. The LiftPac® is a certified IP-2 flexible package for homogenous ‘flowable’ solids that may include soil, gravel, and demolition debris.

Manufactured of heavy-duty woven and non-woven polypropylene with patented zipper closures, the LiftPac® gives users a safe and secure way to store, transport, and dispose of a variety of wastes. They are easily transported by rail, flatbed, dump truck, intermodal containers, and barges.

Product Highlights and Benefits

  • Flexible packaging weighs less than rigid packaging, lowering disposal costs.
  • Each waste disposal bag is Certified as Industrial Packaging 1 (IP-1) or Industrial Packaging 2 (IP-2) for soils, demolition debris, rubble, and some metals.
  • They can be custom-designed to handle large irregular-shaped, or sized items.
  • The flexible waste containment bag is ideal for low-level waste (LLW) and very low-level waste (VLLW). Still, it can also be used for many other types of waste- including agricultural organic waste, construction debris, industrial waste, municipal solid waste, and waste from environmental remediation.
  • Flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBCs) waste disposal bags can store and transport dry flowable products, including plastic granules, grains, fertilizer, powders, sand, and more.
  • Easy to transport on most types of vehicles, including flatbed trailers, dump trucks, railcars, barges, and intermodal containers.
  • Made of strong heavy-duty woven and non-woven polypropylene that is highly resistant to abrasions and tears.
  • Packaging for non-hazardous waste has an efficient product-to-package ratio.
  • Optional EZ Loading Frame available to further increase the efficient movement of packages.
  • Reduces the environmental footprint because the amount of energy to produce flexible packaging is considerably less than that required by the production of rigid packaging.

FAQs

Are these bags easy to load?

PacTec offers many sizes of flexible packaging and FIBCs, and all of them are easy to load. Many are even self-standing, with integrated fiberboard in the sidewalls, so they stand open unassisted during the loading process. For larger bags, we offer easy-to-use loading and lifting frames to make your work even easier.

Are your FIBC’s rated in any way?

PacTec offers many certified FIBC options and flexible packaging that meet DOT regulations. Among them are our UN-rated packages, plus many sizes of Type IP-1, IP-2, and IP-3 LiftPacs®. We also offer unrated basic bulk sacks if you do not require certification for your waste type. Regardless of your needs and price point, we have a solution for you. What waste types are suitable for flexible waste bags?

Most FIBCs are designed to handle “flowable” materials and debris, meaning small solids that can be poured – like sand, soils, plastic pellets, livestock feed, etc. PacTec’s lined bags can also handle a certain moisture content within that material and still be secure, even though they are not designed for wet wastes. Plus, with various IP and UN ratings, our bags are designed to handle wastes in all 49 CFR Packaging Groups and Nuclear LLW (Low Level Waste) and VLLW (Very Low Level Waste) types.

How can flexible waste bags be transported once full of waste?

Once full, PacTec’s flexible waste packaging can be transported by most means and meet DOT regulations – including rail, flatbed truck, dump truck, intermodal containers, and barges.

Are your flexible waste bags suitable for nuclear waste?

Many of PacTec’s non-hazardous waste packages are designed to handle other waste types but have been approved for Nuclear LLW (Low Level Waste) and VLLW (Very Low Level Waste) types. If you have other nuclear wastes that need to be handled, we offer many nuclear waste products.

How do flexible waste bags compare to solid containers like boxes?

While many traditional sites still insist on using solid waste containers like B25 boxes, intermodals or the like, flexible waste packaging has proven its superiority in many ways for many instances. Among those are their affordability, versatility, lower cost-to-waste ratio, availability, and ease of transportation.

How do flexible waste bags stay closed once filled?

PacTec’s FIBCs and other flexible packaging stay closed with our innovative and often-patented zipper closure method. Instead of hook-and-loop closures or tie straps, PacTec’s zipper bags are much easier to use and offer a more secure containment.

How many bags are shipped on a pallet?

All of PacTec’s FIBCs and bags are shipped collapsed on pallets, and the quantity is largely dependent on the size and layers of construction. For example, our self-standing UN-rated bags come 36 per pallet, while our larger 96ft3 lined bags come 22 per pallet. Obviously this varies, but suffice to say many more packages come per pallet than a single rigid container. What sizes are available for flexible waste bags?

Flexible waste bags come in various sizes. PacTec offers many different sizes of FIBCs and Flexible Non-Hazardous Waste Packaging from cubic yard sacks up to 25 yd3 to fit a roll off container and everything in between.

What materials are flexible waste bags constructed from?

FIBCs are typically made from polyethylene or polypropylene, plus PacTec offers various additional layers depending on your needs. These could include polymeric liners for leak prevention or puncture resistance. Reach out to our team to learn more or to get a no-obligation quote.
